Sailor Moon Naoko Takeuchi Collection: Volumes and Box Sets

The two Collection box sets split the line at volume 6, and the second box also carries the two Sailor V books. Box Set 1 is the first six Sailor Moon books; Box Set 2 is volumes 7–10 plus Codename: Sailor V 1 and 2, which the box’s description calls “the complete Codename Sailor V manga series (Vol. 1 and 2)” (Penguin Random House). This page uses V1 and V2 for the Sailor V books, so they are not mistaken for Sailor Moon volumes 11 and 12.

What Kodansha says the Collection is

Kodansha describes the Collection’s first book as “A new edition of the Sailor Moon manga, for a new generation of fans!” with “an updated translation and high page count in a more affordable, portable edition” (Penguin Random House). Its Sailor V books use similar wording (Sailor V 1). That is a publisher description, not our judgment of the translation or paper.

Do not carry numbers into the Eternal Edition

The Eternal Edition also runs ten Sailor Moon books and two Sailor V books. The Penguin Random House records for neither line say how their book numbers line up, so this page keeps them apart: owning Eternal Edition 1–6 does not mark Collection 1–6, or the first box, as owned. The Sailor Moon edition counts guide covers the totals.

Shelf examples

If you own Collection 1–6 as single books, Box Set 1 repeats all six and adds only its art cards and box. If you own 1–8, Box Set 2 repeats volumes 7 and 8 and adds 9, 10, V1 and V2. If you own Sailor Moon 1–10 and want the prequel, the individual Sailor V books add V1 and V2 without repeating anything; Box Set 2 would repeat all four Sailor Moon volumes it holds.

Check each ISBN-13 against a listing before ordering; the ISBN edition check explains the match, and the box-set duplicate check shows how to count mixed shelves.
