VIZ’s English Dragon Ball Z is 26 volumes, and its original Dragon Ball is 16, so the two together are 42 numbered books with separate numbering (Z list, Dragon Ball list). The Dragon Ball Z Complete Box Set (ISBN 978-1-9747-0872-7, released June 4, 2019) “contains all 26 volumes” plus a double-sided poster and a collector’s booklet (VIZ). Z volume 1 is not Dragon Ball volume 17 in these editions’ numbering, so label which series each book belongs to.

Find the actual gap
If your Z shelf contains 1–20, the full set repeats twenty and adds 21–26: six new story units. If you have 1–20 plus 24–26, only 21–23 are missing. The tool calculates that internal gap instead of assuming that owning the final number means the collection is complete.
Mark a whole set as owned only if you actually have its documented story contents. Keeping an empty display box or a booklet should not mark 26 manga volumes present. Extras are intentionally separate from the ownership union.
Do not mix numbering systems
Original Dragon Ball volumes 1–16 do not fill Z units 1–16 here. The two maps preserve the titles and identifiers. They also do not convert other collected editions whose contents have not been audited in this launch.
