VIZ’s page for Vol. 1 calls it “A deluxe bind-up edition.” VIZ’s records do not say which original volumes each Perfect Edition book collects, so the numbers on this page are the Perfect Edition’s own.

The Perfect Edition’s twelfth and last book carries a different title: 21st Century Boys: The Perfect Edition, Vol. 1. Anyone who counts to “Vol. 12” in a store listing should look for that title, not for a twelfth 20th Century Boys book.

Perfect Edition numbers are not original numbers
Each book runs 408 to 464 pages, but VIZ’s pages do not say which original paperback volumes a given Perfect Edition book collects. This site therefore does not convert between the two numbering systems. If you own original paperbacks and want Perfect Edition books, compare the contents of your last volume with the Perfect Edition’s descriptions rather than converting by arithmetic. The original paperbacks are VIZ’s separate Vol. 1–22 list and are outside this map.
Worked examples
- You own Perfect Edition Vol. 1–7. You hold seven of the twelve books, and the next is Vol. 8 (June 16, 2020).
- You own Vol. 1–11. The only book left in VIZ’s line is 21st Century Boys: The Perfect Edition, Vol. 1.
- You own only Vol. 11. Nothing in the map says that book alone covers the story before it, so the calculator does not treat Vol. 11 as covering Vol. 1–10.
