How We Check Edition Contents
Our sources, calculation method, AI disclosure and limits when comparing manga editions.
Manga Editions is built and maintained with AI tools. We use publisher sources for edition data and code to calculate overlaps. Each published mapping links to its source. We do not physically test books.
What a verified mapping means
We check the edition name, language, format and stated contents against the publisher or its authorized distributor. An ISBN is included when checked. A verified contents record can still have an unverified ISBN or unknown bonus material; these fields are labelled separately. We do not infer future contents from an earlier three-in-one pattern.
The launch catalog was checked on September 9, 2026. It covers 20 series and 55 collected-edition records. These are bounded maps, not a comprehensive list of all manga or every format in a series.
How the calculation works
Every story unit belongs to a named series and numbering system. Owned singles and the verified contents of owned editions form a set. Candidate contents form a second set. Their intersection is overlap; candidate units outside the owned set are new coverage. Missing coverage is the part of your selected target absent from both sets. A target already covered by owned books needs no additional numbered story purchase.
Unknown edition contents do not count as proven coverage. Repeated books are counted once. Extras such as posters, guidebooks, novels and art books are listed separately from numbered story units. These rules let you reproduce the result from the static source table without using the interactive tool.
Where the answer stops
We do not judge binding, paper quality, durability or translation quality. The diagrams are original geometric illustrations of membership, not photographs or scale drawings. Volume coverage does not establish page-by-page equivalence, identical bonus material or printing condition. A completed target is not a claim that a series has finished publication.
Retail links and editorial independence
The site’s Amazon US tracking ID is mangaeditions-20. A retail link is attached only to a checked edition identity. We do not infer an Amazon identifier from an ISBN, claim current prices or availability, or let commission affect the overlap calculation. A matching edition can still be an unnecessary purchase if its story coverage is already on your shelf.

Corrections and updates
Use the corrections page to report a mismatch with a publisher source. Changes to mapped contents should name the record, source, previous value and corrected value in the repository history and public change log. A changed source or new release triggers a specific recheck; it does not justify silently extending every edition pattern.
