Box set comparison
Vampire Knight Box Sets 1 and 2 vs the Complete Box Set
VIZ sells Vampire Knight as Box Set 1 (volumes 1–10), Box Set 2 (11–19) and a Complete Box Set. Compare volumes, extras and overlap before you buy a second box.
In this guide
Vampire Knight Box Set 1 (volumes 1–10) plus Box Set 2 (volumes 11–19) gives you the same 19 numbered volumes as the single Complete Box Set. The difference is the extras, release year and what you already own. If you have both older boxes, the Complete Box Set adds no numbered volume. If you have only one of them, the Complete Box Set repeats the volumes in it.

Each link reading "Search Amazon for …" opens an Amazon search for the box's ISBN-13, because no listing with the same title and a new copy in stock appeared when we checked on October 29, 2026.
The three boxes side by side
| Box | Volumes | Published | ISBN-13 | Extras VIZ names | Amazon |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vampire Knight Box Set 1 | 1–10 | November 16, 2010 | 9781421539508 | Cross Academy Day Class 2011 Planner; case for the box set | Search Amazon for Vampire Knight Box Set 1 |
| Vampire Knight Box Set 2 | 11–19 | November 4, 2014 | 9781421575889 | The title says “with Premium”; the page does not say what it is | Search Amazon for Vampire Knight Box Set 2 |
| Vampire Knight Complete Box Set | 1–19 | October 22, 2024 | 9781974749737 | Day Class planner; exclusive art book | Search Amazon for Vampire Knight Complete Box Set |
Sources, all VIZ product pages checked October 29, 2026: Box Set 1 (“Includes: manga volumes 1-10”), Box Set 2 (titled “Volumes 11-19 with Premium”) and the Complete Box Set (“A new collector’s box set of the entire Vampire Knight series! Includes the Day Class planner and an exclusive art book!”). The Complete Box Set page does not print volume numbers. We read “the entire series” as volumes 1–19 because VIZ’s list of the original manga runs from Vol. 1 to Vol. 19, as our Vampire Knight edition map does.
What you already own decides which box adds anything
| Your shelf | Box Set 1 | Box Set 2 | Complete Box Set |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nothing yet | Adds 1–10 | Adds 11–19 | Adds 1–19 in one box |
| Singles 1–10 | Repeats all ten | Adds 11–19 | Repeats 1–10, adds 11–19 |
| Box Set 1 only | Already owned | Adds 11–19, no repeats | Repeats 1–10 (ten volumes), adds 11–19 |
| Box Set 2 only | Adds 1–10, no repeats | Already owned | Repeats 11–19 (nine volumes), adds 1–10 |
| Box Sets 1 and 2 | Already owned | Already owned | No numbered volume added |
| Singles 1–19 | No numbered volume added | No numbered volume added | No numbered volume added |
The arithmetic is the volume count of each range: 10 − 1 + 1 = 10 in Box Set 1 and 19 − 11 + 1 = 9 in Box Set 2, which together make the 19 in the Complete Box Set. Only the extras can justify a second purchase once your numbered volumes are covered, and that is a collecting preference rather than a missing-volume fix.
Extras are described differently on each page
VIZ names a “Cross Academy Day Class 2011 Planner” for Box Set 1 and a “Day Class planner” for the Complete Box Set. The pages do not say whether the two planners are the same item, so do not treat the planner as a reason to skip either box. Box Set 2’s “Premium” is not described at all. VIZ names an art book only on the Complete Box Set’s page.
Do not mix up the sequel series
VIZ lists Vampire Knight: Memories as a separate series with its own Vol. 1–11 (Vol. 11 is marked “Final Volume!”). A “Vol. 10” in a listing could be either series. The three box descriptions above name the original manga’s volumes or the original series as a whole and do not mention Memories, so check the full title before counting a loose volume toward Box Set 1 or 2.
Checklist for a used listing
- Read the exact box title. “Vampire Knight Box Set” (the first one) and “Vampire Knight Complete Box Set” are different products with different ISBN-13s.
- Ask what extras are present. VIZ lists the planner and case with Box Set 1; a used copy may have lost them, and the publisher page cannot tell you.
- Count the books: 10 in Box Set 1, 9 in Box Set 2 and 19 in the Complete Box Set.
- For Box Set 2, ask what the “Premium” is, since the publisher page does not name it.
