Seven Deadly Sins Box Sets vs Omnibuses: Where Ranges Differ

Seven Deadly Sins Manga Box Set 1 holds volumes 1–7 and Box Set 6 holds 36–41, while the 14 omnibuses split the series at other points. See what each mix repeats or leaves out.

In this guide

Penguin Random House calls Seven Deadly Sins Manga Box Set 1 “the first of six sets” (volumes 1–7) and Box Set 6 “the final of six sets” (volumes 36–41, plus a short story collection). Neither box starts or ends where the 14 omnibuses do, so mixing the two formats can repeat volumes or leave a gap. The omnibuses cover volumes 1–41; this guide maps only the two boxes whose volume ranges the distributor lists today.

The wording is from the Penguin Random House pages for Box Set 1 (“contains Vol. 1-7”) and Box Set 6 (“contains Vols. 36-41 of the manga, as well as The Seven Deadly Sins: Original Sins Short Story Collection”), checked October 29, 2026. PRH’s box set series page lists only these two. The “six sets” wording means Box Sets 2 through 5 exist, but we have no distributor page for them that we could open, so their volume ranges are not mapped here. Both boxes are in our Seven Deadly Sins edition map.

The omnibuses they cut across

PRH’s omnibus series page lists fourteen 3-in-1 books (the last holds two volumes): 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, 10–12, 13–15, 16–18, 19–21, 22–24, 25–27, 28–30, 31–33, 34–36, 37–39 and 40–41.

Box setVolumesOmnibuses covering the same volumesExtra volumes those omnibuses bring
Box Set 11–7Omnibus 1 (1–3), 2 (4–6) and 3 (7–9)8 and 9
Box Set 636–41Omnibus 12 (34–36), 13 (37–39) and 14 (40–41)34 and 35

Box Set 1 ends on the first volume of Omnibus 3. Box Set 6 begins on the last volume of Omnibus 12. That is where the mismatches come from.

Worked examples

  • You own Omnibuses 1 and 2 (volumes 1–6). Box Set 1 would repeat all six and add only volume 7. Omnibus 3 adds 7, 8 and 9 with no repeats.
  • You own Box Set 1 (volumes 1–7). Omnibus 3 repeats 7 and adds 8–9. Jumping to Omnibus 4 (10–12) would leave 8 and 9 missing.
  • You own Omnibuses 1 through 11 (volumes 1–33). Box Set 6 starts at 36, so volumes 34 and 35 stay missing. Omnibus 12 (34–36) fills them, but adding Box Set 6 afterward would give you volume 36 twice.
  • You own Omnibuses 1 through 12 (volumes 1–36). Box Set 6 repeats 36 and adds 37–41 plus the short story collection. Omnibuses 13 and 14 add the same 37–41 without repeating anything.

The last two lines point at the one difference in content. Box Set 6’s description names the Original Sins short story collection, while PRH’s descriptions of Omnibus 13 (“Vols. 37-39”) and Omnibus 14 (“Vols. 40-41”) name the manga volumes only. If you want that collection, the box set page is the one that lists it. If you only want volumes 37–41, the two omnibuses cover them, and the collection is a separate decision. The two omnibus pages we opened do not mention it.

Checklist for a listing

  1. Read the full title. “Manga Box Set 6” and “Omnibus 12” overlap at volume 36 but are different books.
  2. Match the ISBN-13 above for the two documented boxes. A listing for Box Set 2, 3, 4 or 5 needs its volume range checked against the publisher before you rely on it.
  3. Count volumes: seven in Box Set 1, six in Box Set 6 (41 − 36 + 1 = 6), three in each full omnibus.
  4. For a used Box Set 6, ask whether the short story collection and poster are still included; the publisher page lists what it was sold with, not what a later owner kept.
