What “Complete” Means on a Manga Box Set
A complete box is complete only within its documented scope.
A complete box is complete only within its documented scope. It may collect a finished main series, a named part, or a particular volume range. It does not automatically include spin-offs, novels, companion books or later releases.
Read the range before the marketing label
VIZ’s Demon Slayer Complete Box Set contains main-series volumes 1–23. Its range can be represented directly in the Demon Slayer map. That record should not be expanded into a promise about every related publication.
The Chainsaw Man Box Set contains volumes 1–11. Our Chainsaw Man map therefore ends its audited range at 11. Owning that whole range is different from owning every Chainsaw Man volume published at a later date. The tool should make that boundary visible instead of turning a selected target into a claim about the series as a whole.
Use a precise completion statement

The more precise statements are useful because they survive changes in publication schedules. If a later release appears, your holdings through a fixed target remain the same, while a broad “everything” claim may become false.
Keep companion material visible
Death Note’s Complete Box Set lists volumes 1–12 and the How to Read companion. We display the companion separately from main-story coverage. A collector can care about both without conflating the totals.
Before buying, write down the scope you want: a particular numbered range, one named edition line, or a larger collection that includes extras. This site’s calculations answer the first question from documented contents. The other aims need their own checked inventory, and unverified material remains unknown rather than being silently counted or excluded.
