How Many Attack on Titan Manga Box Sets Are There? Seven

Penguin Random House lists seven English Attack on Titan manga box sets. See their order, which four name their volumes, and where they cut across the 12 omnibuses.

In this guide

Penguin Random House’s Kodansha Comics series listing shows seven English Attack on Titan manga box sets, labeled Book 1 to Book 7. Four of their descriptions name volume numbers (5–8, 9–12, 13–17 and 29–34). The other three do not print volume numbers, so this guide does not assign any to them. The set names are season labels, not volume numbers: “Season 3 Part 1” is not volume 3.

The order, dates, ISBN-13s and wording come from the Penguin Random House box set series page and the seven product pages it links to, all checked October 29, 2026. Each page names Kodansha Comics as publisher. The Season 1 Part 2, Season 2, Season 3 Part 1 and Final Season Part 2 records are the ones in our Attack on Titan edition map.

Which volumes the three unnumbered boxes must account for

Add up what the publisher text does name: 5–8 is four volumes, 9–12 is four, 13–17 is five and 29–34 is six, for 19 volumes. Season 1 Part 1 is described as a four-volume box and Season 1 Part 2 starts at volume 5, so volumes 1–4 is the natural reading for Book 1. That is our reading of two publisher statements, not a printed range. It leaves volumes 18 through 28 between the Season 3 Part 1 and Final Season Part 2 ranges: 28 − 18 + 1 = 11 volumes.

Season 3 Part 2 and The Final Season Part 1 sit between those two ranges in the publisher’s order, but their pages do not say how the eleven volumes divide between them. Do not assume an even split or use the page counts (960 and 1,248) to guess one. If you need to buy by volume number, check the actual back cover or a publisher preview of the box you are considering.

How the boxes cut across the omnibuses

Kodansha also sells the same story as twelve 3-in-1 omnibuses (the last two hold two volumes each). Their ranges in our map are 1–3, 4–6, 7–9, 10–12, 13–15, 16–18, 19–21, 22–24, 25–27, 28–30, 31–32 and 33–34. Box ranges do not match those boundaries, so mixing the formats creates repeats or gaps:

Box setVolumes namedOmnibuses needed to cover the same volumesVolumes the omnibuses add beyond the box
Season 1 Part 25–8Omnibus 2 (4–6) and 3 (7–9)4 and 9
Season 29–12Omnibus 3 (7–9) and 4 (10–12)7 and 8
Season 3 Part 113–17Omnibus 5 (13–15) and 6 (16–18)18
Final Season Part 229–34Omnibus 10 (28–30), 11 (31–32) and 12 (33–34)28

Worked examples

  • You own Omnibuses 1–4 (volumes 1–12). Season 1 Part 2 and Season 2 would repeat all eight of their volumes. The first new numbered volume is 13, which Omnibus 5 or the Season 3 Part 1 box supplies.
  • You own the first four boxes (volumes 1–17 on the reading above). Omnibus 6 (16–18) repeats 16 and 17 and adds 18. Omnibus 7 starts at 19, so buying it without volume 18 leaves a one-volume hole.
  • You own Omnibuses 1–10 (volumes 1–30). The Final Season Part 2 box (29–34) repeats 29 and 30 and adds 31–34. Omnibuses 11 and 12 add the same four volumes without repeats.
  • You own the Final Season Part 2 box only. You have 29–34 and are missing 1–28. On the reading above, the first four boxes would fill 1–17, and the two unnumbered boxes in the middle would fill 18–28 in a split the publisher does not state.

Checklist before you buy or accept a used box

  1. Read the full title including the part number, for example “Season 3 Part 2”. Two boxes share each “Season 3” label.
  2. Match the ISBN-13 to the table. A listing that shows only a cover photo has not identified the box.
  3. Ask the seller to confirm the short-story book (Books 4–7) or the sticker sets and poster (Books 1–3). The publisher says each of the four later boxes has an exclusive short-story book. It does not say whether those books are the same title, so do not count them as duplicates of each other.
  4. If the listing counts volumes, compare with the table: a box that names 13–17 should hold five numbered volumes.

What is not covered

This guide covers the seven Kodansha manga box sets on the Penguin Random House box set series page. It leaves out the Colossal Editions, the FLY collector’s box and spin-offs. For the largest-format hardcovers, see Attack on Titan Omnibus 11–12 vs Colossal 7. For the prequel, see the No Regrets guide. Use the series map to check a specific shelf against the omnibuses and the four boxes with named ranges.
