Edition Data Change Log
Substantive changes to the sourced Manga Editions catalog and calculation method.
October 22, 2026: search-wording rewrites and a corrected Vinland Saga count
Rewrote titles, descriptions and short answers for the A Silent Voice, Assassination Classroom, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bakuman, Dragon Ball Z and Death Note series pages, and for the Berserk Deluxe 14, Vinland Saga numbering and Fruits Basket Collector’s Edition guides, to answer the volume-count and box-set questions readers search for. Series pages now show a short answer and a compact edition table above the full coverage table.
Data notes: Vinland Saga Deluxe is mapped as Deluxe 1–8 only; a retailer lists a Deluxe 9 with a placeholder date but the publisher’s series page does not, so no Deluxe 9 record was added. The regular Vinland Saga English hardcover series has 15 books. Berserk Deluxe 14 is documented as released November 21, 2023. No edition-contents mappings changed.
October 20, 2026: fifteen new series maps and Amazon search links
Added 98 collected-edition records across 15 series: Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, The Promised Neverland, Hellsing, Monster, Fruits Basket, Jujutsu Kaisen, Vampire Knight, Hell’s Paradise, Delicious in Dungeon, Blade of the Immortal, Trigun Maximum, Fire Force, The Seven Deadly Sins and Tokyo Revengers. Each record cites the publisher’s own page, except for the Kodansha Comics, Seven Seas and Hellsing records, which cite the Penguin Random House record for the same book because that distributor lists the contents. All were checked on October 20, 2026. The catalog now holds 35 series and 155 records.
Numbering follows each source. Hellsing is mapped by the chapter ranges the distributor lists; Monster and the Fruits Basket Collector’s Edition treat each numbered book as its own unit because the sources give no conversion to other editions. A box set whose record gives no volume numbers, such as Attack on Titan Season 1 Part 1, stays out of the table.
Series pages now show two kinds of Amazon link. A button reading “View … on Amazon US” goes to a specific listing whose EAN list includes the edition’s ISBN-13 and which showed a new copy in stock, from any seller, when checked. Where we found no such copy, the button reads “Search Amazon for …” and opens an Amazon search for the ISBN-13. Of the 98 new records, 88 have a specific listing and 10 have a search link. Upcoming releases such as the Jujutsu Kaisen Complete Box Set and My Hero Academia Box Set 2 are labelled as scheduled in the publisher’s listing and may change.
The manga box set gift guide gained a section of box sets from the new series records, Amazon links on rows that had none and the original Tokyo Ghoul box. Six other guides now link to the series records that cover them, and four of them had a sentence saying the series was not yet mapped replaced.
October 15, 2026: split coverage and collection worksheets
Added A Silent Voice Collector’s Editions 1 and 2 from Kodansha’s edition records. The second publisher record explicitly starts in the later part of original volume 4; its contradictory generic “first half” phrase is not used as a whole-volume mapping. The original volume-4 unit is now partitioned into symbolic 4a/4b segments, with whole-volume ownership migrated explicitly to both. The box set still covers the full original 1–7 story. Segment labels do not assert equal page counts or an exact chapter boundary.
Source records: Collector’s Edition 1 and Collector’s Edition 2, checked October 15, 2026. Other catalog records retain their previous dates. No new Amazon identifier is inferred from an ISBN.
Added guide workbenches for verified next-story additions, exact edition identity comparison, switching-format boundaries and minimum entered-price gap completion. The existing shelf result now displays selected extras separately from numbered story. Unknown ownership and completed targets produce no purchase suggestion.
October 1, 2026: corrections policy clarified
Removed the claim that readers can submit corrections through a public GitHub inbox. The linked tracker is private. The corrections page now explains the edition-data correction policy without advertising a public submission channel.
September 9, 2026: launch catalog
Published the initial 20 series maps, 55 verified collected-edition contents records and 10 practical guides. Each record links to its publisher or authorized distributor source. Missing ISBNs and unverified bonus material are explicitly labelled.
The calculation separates owned books from candidate editions, preserves gaps, and keeps series numbering isolated. Berserk Deluxe 14’s guidebook is separate from volumes 40–41; Vinland Saga uses original-volume units. Announced One Piece Box Set 5 remains outside the released-edition calculator pending its release check.
